Jibo, a cutesy social robotic pitched to crowdfunders in mid 2014 as ‘the world’s 1st social robot’, is now only heading to ship to backers in the U.S. and Canada.

Abroad pre-orderers from the 45 other international locations — exactly where Jibo was initially slated as staying accessible — have now been informed they will be refunded.

In the email update to its global backers Jibo writes: “After discovering all the alternatives, we have arrive to the summary that we will not be capable to supply Jibo to your country”, incorporating this is because the bot “won’t perform up to our expectations in your country”.
