Researchers at Oxford University took a shot at estimating how robots will affect the job market in 20 years. NPR went ahead and used that information to create a database of jobs and the likelihood they’ll soon be done by a robot.
So, what jobs are hardest for robots? Any job that requires cleverness, negotiation, and constant interaction with humans will be tough to replace.
The easiest job to replace? Telemarketers, and that’s already being done.
The researchers admit that these estimates are rough, but they consider it a snapshot of what the future might look like.
And if you live in Maine, it’s looking a little scary as 14 of the top 20 jobs in the state are at risk. So here are the jobs least likely to be done by a robot.
The results may or may not surprise you.
